Volunteer Today. Change Lives Forever.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Upper Valley Habitat for Humanity!

Volunteers come in all forms and skill levels. One thing they have in common: they are critically important to furthering the organization’s mission in our community. Volunteers are the backbone of any Habitat project. They build the houses, feed the construction crew, raise vital funds, strengthen the community, and make the dream of home ownership a reality.

Below are the different ways you can volunteer with UV Habitat!

Team Build for Groups of Volunteers

We love volunteer groups! Bring together your coworkers, colleagues, friends or family and have fun making an impact in our community.

Join the Board or a Committee

Our Board of Directors are volunteers with a wide range of experience and talent. Habitat for Humanity requires a considerable amount of work behind the scenes before, during, and after each build. If you have skills to offer in the areas of construction, development, financing, housing advocacy, or other areas you think will benefit Habitat, consider joining us!

Individual Volunteers

Individual volunteers make out weekly build days happen. You’ll meet new people, learn new skills, and probably teach others something mew!

You can view our public calendar HERE to see what days are available.

We accept all abilities, whether a skilled tradesperson or a novice!

Please Note: Activity Restrictions for Minors:
Construction sites may be hazardous.

  • People under the age of 14 cannot be allowed on any Habitat worksite.

  • People 14 or 15 years old can paint or landscape, but are not allowed on site while other construction is going on.

  • People 16 or 17 may participate in construction work, but cannot use power tools, perform excavation or demolition, or work on rooftops or at heights above 6 feet.

  • People 18 or over can perform all of the normal construction activities.

Lunch Providers

Lunch providers do just that, provide a tasty and healthy lunch for a crew of 6-10 volunteers. Typically lunch happens between noon and 12:30 pm. Most lunch providers drop off lunch contributions at around 11:45 at the job site, but other arrangements are sometimes possible.

If you are interested in bringing lunch for volunteer construction crews take a look at our Upcoming Work Days and contact us at 802 295 1854 or by email at info@uvhabitat.org to get signed up!
